Richard Riakporhe has supported his British title fight because he takes another step towards a big showdown with Lawrence Okolie. The unbeaten cruiserweight competition will aim the name that was recently vacated by Okolie, with venue and a date to be declared with Massey. Riakporhe wishes to further enhance his standing as one of the fighters at a domestic division that was hotly contested, also displayed his grit claiming his 10th win by split decision in The O2. “I am very happy, this can be like a dream come true,” Riakporhe told Sky Sports. “It’s becoming surreal now. I think I deserve it and I believe it’s my moment, the momentum is in my own corner, and I’m just ready to continue progressing, so I really could progress through the world stage and find a domain name. “Once I found out the boxing board’d ordered the battle for the British title I just broken up into a dancing straightaway. I was ecstatic, and I’m just buzzing. I’m all set to go in there and do exactly what I do. “It’d mean the world for me. You see that name, it is such a prestigious name and to be honest, I feel like a great deal of folks don’t honour this name enough. I would like to be you to represent British boxing using that name as a true winner. I want my name to go down in history. That would be wonderful.” Massey, who’s even yet to undergo a defeat that was expert, has been denied a struggle with Okolie this year through injury, however, Riakporhe believes the will get firsthand experience of his strength and power. “He is a fantastic opponent,” said Riakporhe. “He also beat Chris Billam-Smith I heard from the amateurs. I believe it was from the ABA finals, therefore listen, he’s not a pushover. I reckon he is certainly going to come to struggle, although he has been written by A whole lot of people off already. He has my respect. “I feel as if there is a whole lot of things that I done wrong in my last fight that I’m going to rectify within this struggle and show people that I’m possibly a power to be reckoned with, and it’s just a matter of time until I get to the top. “I have not looked in Massey’s album yet, however there is no fighter such as myself. That is something that a great deal of these fighters, so they realise that if I put in the ring together. After we hit the ring and goes, that’s when he is going to understand why there’s hype about Riakporhe.” Okolie will require the following step-up in course when he struggles Yves Ngabu for the European name on a bumper bill in The O2 on October 26, live on Sky Sports Box Office, with Riakpohe trusting his rival emerges victorious to stay on course to an explosive future struggle. “Me, I will always think that I am the best cruiserweight in this country,” he said. “I’ll actually put the money where my mouth is and jump at the ring and examine myself. “That’s 1 thing about me, I do not have no Olympic background, not one of all of that glamorous stuff. I graduated and jumped into the ring and I’ve gone this far. Imagine if I needed these systems to develop materials and my ability. Okolie would not have gone than me now. “Props to him, he’s done a great job and I’m on the street today. Until we meet, it’s just a matter of time. It may be next year, it could be crazy. Superior luck to him in his competition against Ngabu. I believe he will get the win, probably a late stoppage.” Read more here: http://midriks.com/sam-burgess-out-of-great-britain-tour-with-shoulder-injury/
