He could be piped by Silverwood into the position although reports linked South African Gary Kirsten into the job. The fast bowler, who played six Tests became bowling coach in January 2018 after contributing Essex. An announcement is expected next week. The coachs first mission in control of England are the tour of New Zealand, where two evaluation follow Twenty20 internationals. But, according to director of cricket Ashley Giles, who has stated that England will put a renewed focus on crickets instructions and also the objective is to improve the fortunes of an erratic Test team. It is Giles who is ultimately responsible for the appointment of the new trainer – one that could perhaps be a surprise given the wave of support at the last week. However, Giles endorsed the credentials of Silverwood as long ago and did say his preference for appointing an Englishman. Giles seems likely to choose against dividing the head coachs role together with the newest head coach presiding over the two, between the Test and sides. It is known former England captain Alec Stewart made the review and was invited to a last interview. However, the Surrey director of cricket retreated in the reckoning due to the demands of this program and the impact .
