Ten Sovereigns could sidestep Saturday’s Sprint Cup at Haydock .

Aidan O’Brien’s colt belatedly delivered on his claim that was juvenile with a dominant display in the July Cup after being a beaten favorite in both the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket and the Commonwealth Cup in Royal Ascot. Even the No Nay Never colt could finish only sixth when a popular favourite to follow up at the Nunthorpe in York last month, but looked set to go back to six furlongs in this weekend’s Group One attribute on Merseyside. But, speaking at a press event in his yard on Wednesday afternoon, O’Brien explained:”I’d say we wouldn’t run on soft earth. There is that isn’t excellent and rain forecast. “He’s a genuine quick floor daisy cutter. Fairyland could run if he does not run. That is what we’re thinking at the moment.” Reflecting on his below-par performance behind the brilliant Battaash in the Nunthorpe, the trainer added:”He had been in the stalls a long time, it was very hot and Ryan (Moore) said he felt lethargic when the stalls started. If you are lethargic when you’re running against Battaash you endure. “It just happened so fast. He did blow after the race. Five furlongs, as you probably know, is an artwork. You can have all the speed and ability in the world but it’s an art of hitting those gates and you’ve got to have feet” O’Brien went on to reveal Sovereigns could bring down the curtain on his racing career in Australia. “The Everest is at Sydney and I believe two thirds of the time that the ground has been soft . When it’s tender he will not run there, but he could return to Melbourne, in which he might get far much better floor,” stated the Ballydoyle handler. “There are a couple of sprints down in Melbourne. I wouldn’t believe he will stay in training next year.” Read more: http://midriks.com/the-korean-zombie-vs-renato-moicano-headlines-ufc-greenville/
