It’s easy to presume the New England Patriots are a popular week however heading into Week 2 vs the Miami Dolphins, Odds Shark is monitoring a spread that we haven’t seen??since the 2011 period for the Pats. In reality, it’s the largest spread for any NFL game since 2013. The Patriots are??currently -19-point favorites in BetOnline to conquer the Dolphins after launching as 14.5-point faves??with 67??percent of their cash currently coming in on the Pats. That is New England’s biggest spread as a favorite since 2011 as it??shut as 20-point chalk vs the Colts and it’s??the Pats’??largest spread as a fave for a street game in Odds Shark’s database whenever they were 19-point faves at 2007 vs the Ravens.?? Just 3 games have had spreads of 18 points or more since the start of the 2010 year to put that in view of how large a spread this is: Not my style to answer a question but did you see??that the Patriots and Dolphins play in Week 1? They seem like groups moving in entirely opposite directions since the Pats defeat the Pittsburgh??Steelers and the Dolphins lost on their home field by 49 to the Baltimore Ravens. The Patriots’ offense did not miss a beat in Week 1 and is expected to find a massive increase with WR Antonio Brown coming into town. New England’s defense looked by closing down Pittsburgh to only three 15, incredible. Miami looked like a dumpster flame and oddsmakers are hanging around the notion that the Dolphins may go 0-16 SU at 2019. The 1 glaring fact that seems to be glossed over is how the Patriots have prevailed in Miami in the last several years. New England belongs to Miami every year and because 2013, the Pats are 1-5 SU and ATS in six matches at South Beach (popping eye emoji!) . In four matches in Miami because 2016, the Patriots were favored by a touchdown or even more with only one SU and ATS win to show for it (35-14 win since 7.5-point faves on January 1, 2017). I’m not ready to say that New England will go into Miami and lose outright. That would be foolish. What I am saying is that expecting the Patriots to pay this large of a spread hasn’t been a profitable endeavor. They’ve been a fave of 18 points or more five times from the Brady-Belichick era and the simple fact remains they failed to cover the spread each moment, while they’ve won every game. Watch yourself Now, it is well worth noting that four of these matches, in which the Patriots were large faves, was through their historical 2007 year when they finished 16-0 and demolished all the league (before the Super Bowl, naturally ). But it has merit when we’re referencing spreads that are historical that are larger.?? Check the Patriots-Dolphins Game Center webpage to track the gambling odds out and find out how large this spread develops from today till kickoff.
