Benfica have defended his own player Bernardo Silva within his tweet likening a picture of a Benjamin Mendy into a cartoon used by company Conguitos. Silva has been charged with misconduct by the FA on the tweet, where he has until October 9 to respond. If found guilty, Because of the nature of this FA fee, Silva might confront a six-match ban. In their announcement, Benfica explained:Bernardo Silva is a young man who always been renowned for his simplicity, his character and his good upbringing. Turning a simple joke involving two team-mates and friends to some tweet with racist intent and launching a misconduct statement demonstrates and signals that a disorder of those times. City boss Pep Guardiola double defended Silva over the episode, calling him aexceptional person. But at Fridays news conference once the issue was increased, Guardiola issued a briefno remark anymore. It is thought Silva will ask a private hearing with the FA to echo the information.
